#715 Who Is Pete Pottraff? - 2006/01/30 11:35 PM
Pete Pottraff. The name is synonymous with mystery, intrigue a virtual semantic penumbra. For many Mr. Pete Pottraff was dismissed as simply an internet fad or hoax. But for some, Pottraff marked the beginning of a grand adventure across the seedy underbelly of abstract thought. You've heard it said that this is an age of moral crisis and that Man's sins are destroying the world. Our great nation(s) have been soliciting sacrifice as chief virtue, and have demanded more sacrifices at every disaster. Like a semi-transparent, skeleton-apparition the catch phrase "Who is Pete Pottraff?" drifts into conversation. Why? Is Pottraff a man? Is Pottraff a misguided buzzword dangerously out of control? The scientists, engineers and philosophers of Holistic Forge Works have been hard at work researching this bizarre "jargonistic-phenomenon" for weeks and have made an astonishing discovery--The Origin of Pete Pottraff.
Pete Pottraff is the name that was given to a cryptic 19th century poem found scrawled on the inside of an abandoned marble quarry, who's inhabitants, by all accounts, vanished mysteriously. The complete poem is as follows:
I have a little turtle
His name is Mr. Bee
He drives a little fire truck
That lives inside of me
